Jessica Young Schmidt

Jessica Young Schmidt was a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics who graduated with departmental honors in 2007. After graduating from Roanoke, she began graduate work at North Carolina State University, where her research examined the intersection of policy and software through the use of policy-compliant software requirements. She received her Ph.D. in 2012, and is currently a Teaching Assistant Professor at NC State.

Hampton Smith

Hampton Smith graduated with departmental honors in 2007. He went on to pursue his Ph.D. at Clemson University, teaching computers to do algebra and spot bugs in programs and moonlighting as a software developer at SPARC, LLC. in Charleston, SC. Following his doctorate he moved to Silicon Valley where he's presently a Googler, writing code to make the datacenters go.

Drew Fleming

After graduating in 2007, Drew accepted a software developer job with CGI, a multinational consulting company, and has been working for them ever since. Currently, he is working on a software implementation project for the State of Texas. Over the past 7 years Drew has worked with Java, JavaScript, PL/SQL, .Net and many more languages and frameworks.

Scotty Smith

After Graduating with departmental honors in 2007, Scotty went on to graduate school at The George Washington University, obtaining his Masters degree in 2012. He is finishing up his Doctoral dissertation, anticipating graduating in 2015. He is currently a visiting instructor in the computer science department of Roanoke College.
